With inflation raging at a 41-year high above 9%, the Fed is hung on the horns of a dangerous dilemma. It must raise interest rates aggressively to lower inflation, but by how much? Too little, and inflation may become entrenched, perhaps for years; too much, and the US economy could tip into a recession. The stakes could not be higher for all of us.
